RULES - REGULATIONS - INFORMATION

ISCF SEMI-CONTACT MMA

1. In ISCF Semi-Contact MMA, Takedowns, Ground Control, Submission holds and Strikes ARE allowed. ALL SEMI-CONTACT MMA fighters MUST Wear ISCF Approved Headgear. 2. NO STRIKES to the head if one or both fighters are grounded - NO GROUND & POUND! 3. NO Knees to the head, No Elbows, No Forearms, “Head butting”, Strikes with the head, Strikes to the joints, kidneys, back, spine, groin, rear of the ribs or kidney area or other vital points. 4. Strikes are allowed to the Head, (when you reach the 3rd tier) Body & Legs (Chest, Stomach, Ribs, Arms, Thighs & Calf) 1. Stomping on a downed opponent and up-kicks from the bottom are NOT Allowed. 1. Punches, hammer fists, kicks with the instep, bottom of foot, blade of foot, ball of foot are allowed. 2. All fighters MUST participate in (10) ISCF Semi-Contact MMA Sparring bouts before they can compete with head contact! 3. All strikes to the face must be with padded area of the glove or shin guard. 4. Submissions should be executed with applied pressure not “cranked”. The Referee will break the submission after 3-10 seconds and points will be awarded to the dominant fighter. 5. Catches (Locks, Armbars or Chokes) are allowed, however if control is attained, Referee will STOP the technique and award points. No Wrist Locks! 6. “Heel hooks” and submissions / techniques which involve a twisting pressure against the knee joint are prohibited. Leg locks/leg submissions are prohibited. 7. “Jumping Guards” are strictly prohibited. 8. Every “Guillotine Choke” must have arm in. 9. Neck cranks or submissions which involve dynamic twisting or pressure against the neck joint or spine are prohibited. “Can openers” (From Top position, pulling your opponent’s head forward to their own belly button which applies pressure to their neck) must have arm in and cannot be used as a submission. 10. Potentially dangerous takedowns, throws and submissions designed or intended to cause injury are NOT Allowed. 11. Strikes must be focused /delivered in a controlled manner ensuring proper placement. 12. Open “Flying Scissors” style takedowns are NOT Allowed. 13. No body twisting. 14. Slamming or spiking to the head is NOT Allowed. 15. Slamming or “Back Splashing” (Landing back first across an opponent) to escape a submission is NOT Allowed. 16. Matches are won by score or by properly applied submission technique. 2. THERE ARE NO KNOCKOUTS AND NO CHOKEOUTS! You will be disqualified! ISCF SEMI-CONTACT MMA HEADGEAR RULE • All fighters MUST wear tight fitting headgear, approved by ISCF. • If a fighter’s headgear falls off, his/her opponent cannot strike to their head. • Referee will wait until first opportune moment, without interfering with the action, call time out, to have the fighter’s trainer replace the Headgear. • POSSIBLE POINT DEDUCTIONS • At the discretion of the referee, points may be deducted or a disqualification rendered in the following situations: • When the headgear is purposely pulled off by the Fighter. • If a fighter’s corner fails to make sure headgear is in place or delays in placing headgear after it falls off. • Not following the direction of the ISCF Referee during the course of the bout. THE FOLLOWING ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN • Stalling or executing excessive non scoring techniques. • Maliciously causing injury to an opponent. • Bending/twisting fingers, biting, scratching, pulling hair, clothing or pinching/pulling of skin. • Disrespectful conduct during bout. (verbal or physical) • Arguing with any official. • Refusing to obey the direction of any official. • Showing disregard for one’s or opponent’s safety. • Continuing the bout outside competition area or after the referee calls for a halt. • Any other condition for which the referee believes a penalty should be imposed. • Strikes to the joints, kidneys, back, spine, groin or other vital points are prohibited For ALL FIGHTERS. KNOCKOUTS AND CHOKEOUTS STRICTLY PROHIBITED!

ISCF SEMI-CONTACT MMA: DIVISIONS

1. Divisions will be separated by age and weight. Juniors (ages 8-17) will fight within a 2 year age spread. 2. ALL Competitors will be separated by gender. 3. The ISCF & Event Matchmaker may create "Catchweight" divisions to ensure competition as long as weights are within the spread of the lightest fighters allowed weight spread. 4. All Competitors must be amateur. Amateur fighter is defined as: Having NEVER been paid any purse to fight where payment is directly received for the bout. RULES BRIEFING • All competitors and their coaches MUST attend the rules meeting prior to the competition. THIS IS MANDATORY. If you miss the rules meeting you may be dropped from the event.

ISCF SEMI-CONTACT MMA: MATCH TIME LENGTHS

• ALL BOUTS: TWO (2) rounds, each. At the end of two rounds, if there is a draw, then the fighters can go to a third round to determine the winner. • Junior bouts will be 90 seconds in length, with a one (1) minute rest between each round. • Adult bouts will be (2) minute rounds with (1) minute rests in between each round. • All ISCF matches will continue under the above time lengths and the match's winner determined by the judge’s score cards, except when otherwise terminated due to a disqualification, injury, quitting or by any other reason set forth by these rules and/or the Referee.

ISCF SEMI-CONTACT MMA: MATTED COMPETITION AREA

1. The Competition matted area should be a minimum of 20 feet x 20 feet. 2. Matted area must be either a wrestling, Judo or Jiu Jitsu style mat. 3. Matted area must have a minimum of one inch foam padding. 4. Matted area must extend a minimum of 3 feet beyond the competition area. 5. All mats shall be secured together by design or by tape and have no spaces. 6. All Mats shall be clean and in good condition. 7. The mats padding shall be approved by the ISCF Event Representative & Event Referee(s). 8. Padding shall extend a minimum of *3 feet beyond the fighting area. 9. (*) If the competition area is elevated it shall not be more 36 inches (3 feet) above the venue floor. 10. The elevated matted area shall have steps or a ramp for participants. 11. The elevated area shall have a minimum of a 5 foot warning boarder beyond the competition area. 12 If needed the ISCF promoter shall be required to make whatever changes to the competition area as are necessary in the judgment of the ISCF Event Referee & Representative.

ISCF SEMI-CONTACT MMA: WEIGH-INS 

1. The official weigh-ins may take place either the day before or the day of event.   2. Participants of a bout must BOTH weigh-in on the same day and during the scheduled weigh- in time.  If weigh-ins are scheduled for 2 separate days, one fighter cannot weigh-in on the first day and his/her opponent weigh-in on the following day. BOTH must weigh-in on the SAME DAY!  (unless previous arrangements have been made and approved) 3. EVERY Fighter and Trainer has the right to witness his or her opponents weigh-in, ALWAYS!   4. Weigh-in time windows are to be no more than 2 hours in length. (except for tournaments)  - Fighters who miss this weigh-in "Time Window" will be scratched from the event unless a valid explanation is given to the ISCF Representative as to why they cannot make the weigh-in window.   5. The weigh-ins must be conducted by the ISCF Event Representative ONLY at a place and time agreed upon by the ISCF Event Representative & the Event Promoter.   6. Prior to the event weigh-in, the scales weight must be confirmed by the ISCF Event Representative with the placement of a 10 lb fixed weight (Provided by the event Promoter) to assure its accuracy.   7. All Fighters must weigh-in.   8. Fighters cannot wear more than, Shorts, Shirt and Socks. (No pants, jackets, shoes)   9. Fighters must weigh-in within the weight class agreed upon in matchmaking. No bouts should be scheduled on a “single” weight. Matchmakers must use the weight classes set by the ISCF for each bout.  10. Fighters in all title bouts must weigh-in within the noted weight limits of the title. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WEIGHT ALLOWANCE for Title Bouts.   11. WEIGHT SEPARATIONS   - Whether in the agreed upon weight class or in a "Catch weight" bout the fighters must be within the allowed spread in accordance to ISCF Semi-Contact MMA Rules.

ISCF SEMI-CONTACT MMA: HEADGEAR RULE

• If a fighter’s headgear falls off, his/her opponent cannot strike to their head.   • Referee will wait until first opportune moment, without interfering with the action, call time out, to have the fighter’s trainer replace the Headgear.   • POSSIBLE POINT DEDUCTIONS   • At the discretion of the referee, points may be deducted or a disqualification rendered in the following situations:   • When the headgear is purposely pulled off by the Fighter.   • If a fighter’s corner fails to make sure headgear is in place or delays in placing headgear after it falls off.

ISCF SEMI-CONTACT MMA: FIGHTERS CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT

All competitors will be examined for contagious skin conditions, trimmed nails and open wounds prior to competition.   1. DRESS CODE  Permissible apparel for the fighters shall include:   1. Fighters must wear SHORTS or SPATS (short or long) ONLY - NO Pants!   2. Shorts Can NOT have any metal or sharp – solid objects as part of them.   3. Approved Shorts Include   1. Fight Shorts, that do NOT have buttons, zippers, metal or sharp objects.  2. Shorts should not have pockets  4. Male competitors will compete in short or long sleeve rash guards.   5. Female competitors may compete in short or long sleeve rash guards with sports bras underneath. Sports bras may not have brace, metal or any hard material. 6. Any combination of the foregoing, and/or any other clothing approved by the ISCF referee who may require such apparel to be taped or otherwise secured to ensure its stability during the match.   Under no circumstances shall apparel or equipment which includes metal and/or hard plastic and/or any edge or surface which could cause extraneous injury to the fighters be allowed.     2. GLOVES: Fighters are required to wear ISCF approved gloves.   Fighters 8-17 must wear "8" ounce gloves. 18+ fighters will wear 8-10 oz gloves.  Gloves are required to be taped to the fighter to ensure their stability during the bout.   3. GROIN CUP: Male Fighters are required to wear an ISCF approved protective groin cup during all matches.   4. MOUTHPIECE   -    Fighters are required to wear an ISCF approved mouthpiece while the bout is in progress.   -    It is strongly recommended that all Fighters have two (2) form fitted mouthpieces available for use in their bouts.   -    The round cannot begin if the mouthpiece is not inside the Fighters mouth and set in place.   -    The mouthpiece must be properly set in the Fighters mouth at all times during the bout.   Dislodged Mouthpiece: If the mouthpiece is dislodged during the bout, the referee will wait until the first opportune moment, without interfering with the action, call time out, and have the trainer replace the mouthpiece.   5. SHOES: Wrestling and or Martial Arts shoes are NOT allowed.   6. BODY EQUIPMENT: Fighter may wear ISCF approved shin, and/or instep pads. Must be approved by the ISCF Representative prior to the bout. Must be taped to the competitor to ensure stability during the bout.   7. HEAD EQUIPMENT: ISCF Approved Headgear For ALL Ages: · This should be a TIGHT FITTING Headgear such as Top 10 MMA Headgear.   8. BODY ART:  -     NO Body Jewelry - Piercing Accessories may be worn during any ISCF bout.   -     NO Henna or any kind of temporary tattoos.   -     NO excessive makeup of any kind.   -    NO Advertisements shall be written on a fighter’s skin (EX: GoldenPalace.com)   -     ANY "Entree" Masks, costumes or props must be approved prior to the start of the event.   9. VASELINE: Fighter's may lightly (as determined by the ISCF Referee) place Vaseline upon their faces at the entrance to the mat with the Referee or Event supervision. NO oils or Vaseline/Greases or Tar material may be used on any other part of the competitor's body.   10. FINGERNAILS: Fighters fingernails and toenails must be cut and trimmed prior to any ISCF bout.   11. HAIR   -     Combatant may only use soft materials to tie hair. Long hair MUST be pulled back.  -     FACIAL HAIR: If determined by the ISCF Event Representative to be a health, safety or sanitary issue, must be trimmed and or cut.

ISCF SEMI-CONTACT MMA: SUSPENSIONS

• ISCF SEMI-CONTACT MMA Rules and Regulations will be STRICTLY ENFORCED. Light contact must be maintained. The first violation will initiate a hard warning. The second violation in the same match will give the Referee the discretion to take away points, disqualify the fighter and/or suspend them.
